Not all these gals were award winners, but each of them has won a spot in my heart for looking AWESOME at the globes!
First up…Evan Rachel Wood in Gucci PremiereFrom women’s pant suits to this fine feathered gown, she works it every time. The texture of this dress is evocative of flapper and deco fashions, and I simply love it. How much do you think it weighs? 20? 30 pounds?
Claire Danes who is often an A-OK red-carpeter did herself a solid wearing this beautiful Couture J. Mendel dress. And if you didn’t think it was great enough from the front…
BAM! There goes the back! This thing was made for her figure, in fact she has a tendency towards greatness in that department. Way to dress for what you HAVE!
Helen Mirren in Badgley Mischka. So good, let’s see another one!
Laura Dern in Andrew Gu. I’d wear that, in a heartbeat.
I wonder if I could get away with this shape? I love things that are conservatively sexy, but I often wonder if I can pull off a crew neck dress. I have a feeling I have no neck The color and weight of the fabric remind me of so many things I love, and I have such a thing for this blue tone, sigh…Anyhoo, Michelle Williams is looking beautiful here in Jason Wu. I realize the juries ben out on the headband, but I like it. No crime in framing your face with jewels and lace, no crime at all.
And then there was Tilda. Tilda of my heart, you shine always. Here she is wearing the hell out of this Haider Ackermann. I’m so grateful for the introduction to this designing house. It’s simple lines, and warm, earthy palates is everything I look for in fashion that feels very ‘now’ and artistic.
Over and out.

I often feel the Met Gala is the only event people really get dressed for. They do their best to showcase they’re vision of fashion and costume, and are generally successful :)! This year I have a long list of favorites, enjoy!!
Anna Wintour, who I usually do not consider a ‘head-turner’ wowed me in this beautiful Chanel Couture dress.
Frida Pinto (above) looking darling in this number by an unnamed designer, who made this one? I lurve it! Vera Wang in her own design, love the eye-popping color! Totally one I would go for.
Christina Ricci striking a diva pose in Zac Posen. Stunning!!
Diane Kruger (one of my femme fatal FAVORITES) in Jason Wu. Mr. Wu really knows the female shape and how to show it off, bravo!
Her stylist (whoever he/she is) can be a real hit/miss kinda person, but Chrsitina Hendricks is a vision in this gown. Anyone know who made it?
All these beauties considered, I think Michelle Williams is my evenings favorite. Not because the dress has the most flair or because it shows off the most skin, but because of the ease with which she wears it, the way she and the Miu Miu gown seem to wear each other, seem to soothe each other. Yeah, this one is tops for sure!!
Who were your favorite’s of the evening??
