Mugshot Catwalk

These images are courtesy of the book City of Shadows via my partner in older-sibling online shenanigans Liza Patriana at La boite verte.

I can’t help but marvel at the way folks used to dress, so much care. These images are mugshots form the 1920’s in Sydney Australia. My imagination spirals looking at them – Were they dressed this way when they were caught? Were they remorseful? Proud of their crimes? In disbelief that they were apprehended? Ashamed?

What do you think?

Thrilling.

These next two may be my favorites. The reluctant flapper and the elegant cross-dresser. Love.
